I saw this on FB posted by Happy Living, and it had thousands of comments, so I decided to check them out. Not all of them you understand, but enough to get the gist.

I was looking for humour but must say about eight out of ten mentioned things like, respect, politeness, manners, working hard, – that sort of thing. But I made a list of others. The first one is mine though:

Pulling out or singeing the tiny pin feathers left on a turkey before putting it in the oven for Christmas dinner.

Of course there was no wikihow.com back then so you had to learn it from a human, probably your mother.

Dial a Rotary Phone

I saw a clip somewhere where some boys – young teens were shown one of these and asked how one used it. Quite humorous.

Aren’t Grandsons Wonderful

More memories of younger grandsons.

“I wonder what’s going to happen exciting today?”

9.00 pm and I realise it’s my turn to write a post. My son has just left after dinner. I love my daughter-in-law from heaven but how I love it when there are just the two of us.

We talked about the four grandsons, all growing into fine young men (no bias here, you understand) and some of my special times spent with them, without parents. I could go on about them but I really don’t want to bore you.

But I thought of one day 10 years ago when I had the strangest text conversation with Grandson No 3. I wrote a blog about it and will reproduce it here –
