PANIC

I enjoy following Tara at Thin Spiral Notebook and have done so for several years. She is a writer of fiction, an artist, photographer and so much more.
She is an inspiration!
And I particularly like her 100 Word Challenge.
As Tara says, use  100 words no more and no less. for the challenge.
If you want to play along, this week’s challenge is PANIC and here’s my effort.

If you saw my contribution from last week, I should tell you that lockdown has been put in place for over 70s since Saturday lunchtime – it’s Monday evening here. So my worst fears have come to pass. The fortress has been erected and all social activities have been cancelled.

And on Wednesday, local time, we are moving to Alert Level 4 and all but essential services have to shut down.

Our Prime Minister’s advice to the nation is “Don’t Panic. We will get through this if we all work together.” Well said, Jacinda Ardern. Hopefully, the populace will listen.

  1. I like your Prime Minister, Judith. Maybe you can make good use of the time in your fortress by doing some extra writing?
The rules that are being applied in all the different states of Australia are a bit confusing for each state may have slightly different rules. None the less we try not to panic!
    Best wishes, Uta 🙂

    • Thanks Uta. Yes, writing is at the top of the list followed by cupboard clearing, cobweb moving etc etc. Great plans, we will see if they come to fruition. I hope you and Peter are well and this awful time is not impacting too badly on his diminished state of health. Virtual hugs to you both. Take care. Stay safe.

  2. A wise move on the part of your Prime Minister. We have been in total lockdown for over a week and managing. It is the only way to deal with this.

  3. I liked your 100-word message. One day I’m going to try such a challenge.

We have had medical appointments canceled because of the virus, yet there is still not a single confirmed case of it in our county. It was strange not to go to church, but we had a video to watch made by the pastor and a few choir members.

  4. I’ve been in self quarantine since I got home from Australia six days ago. I’ve accomplished nothing but some progress in getting my day/night schedule back on South Dakota time. I’m trying not to be hard on myself and allowing my body to take its time! I’m realizing my usual goal-oriented self is doing quite fine letting go. I think I will learn something valuable here, like what is really important? Take care!

  5. More and more places are shutting down here too. I only wish we knew when life will get back to some semblance of normal. Good luck!
