Tulip Time at The Botanic Gardens

It has been a perfect Spring weekend – sunshine, warmth and little wind. In Wellington we are very fortunate to have not only the bush and the Town Belt in which to wander but also The Botanic Gardens. Today we took ourselves off to the Gardens to ooh and ah over the magnificent display of tulips.  Words are not necessary…

The Gardens were teeming with people; young couples, older couples and definitely old couples, families with children all sizes and ages and dogs of every breed and some unknown breeds.

    • HI Suzicate – that’s one of the things about the blogosphere. Somebody posts something and it reminds us of other things to do or see. Hope you enjoyed your visit. 🙂

  4. Tulips are gorgeous flowers. I wish we had some in our garden but someone just a few houses up has some amazing ones each spring on the road’s border (no pavements where I live).

I frequently kick myself that the two times I visited Amsterdam in the early 1970s, I didn’t go in the spring and didn’t really get to see many tulips. (Did see daffodils though – a policeman pointed a gun at me when I sat on them by mistake!)

    • No room for tulips in my miniscule inner city garden so I shall just enjoy them at the Botanic Gardens. And sitting on tulips in Amsterdam – punishable by death. Thanks for the comment. 🙂

    • Don’t you have the four season where you live? I do know that in some places the weather determines that there be no Spring, Summer,Fall or Winter. Just weather. 🙂

  6. Gorgeous pics. And I appreciate the reminder that parents are responsible for their children 🙂

    • I was angry at myself for leaving the camera behind but I did have the phone. And yes, it amazes me how often you see children running around causing mayhem while the mothers happily sit sipping coffee and chatting. On the other hand, it’s great to see the children running and playing in the open air rather than being glued to a TV set. 🙂

  7. Tulips are my favourite flower. What a lovely day you must have had. If I lived 6 months in Canda and 6 months in New Zealand, I could enjoy tulips twice ayear!!
