Blond, Beautiful, Bright, Brilliant Blogger

Gala Darline

Have you heard of Gala Darling?  Born in Wellington New Zealand and named Amy by her parents she has arrived in New York and reinvented herself.  She has changed her name officially to Gala Darling and is now the darling of the blogosphere.

I discovered this gem on TV recently – see the item here.  She is a young woman with style and presence.  She has around 500,000 hits per month on her blog.  That’s an amazing number of hits.

She advertises on her blog and it makes money.  She advertises such products as Coach handbags.  She claims to make in excess of $100,000 per month.

She says she is always writing and is now about to publish a book.  She has an agent and the publisher is the one that published ‘The Devil Wears Prada” and “The Girl With the Pearl Earring“.

So I say – good on you.  Well done Gala.  See what you think.

  1. There’s a typo in your post, Judith…Gala apparently gets 500,000 hits a month on her blog…

Glad she’s doing well…the money would be nice, but that’s not the kind of fame I want…

    • Yes thanks Wendy – I see the typo.
I was putting this out to congratulate her on what she has achieved. I wouldn’t particularly want a daughter of mine doing this but it’s another way that the young are making their way in today’s world.
And you’re right about the kind of fame.

  2. I really can’t comprehend how she makes THAT MUCH money. There are thousands of bloggers who have just as many ads on their website, are sent just as much (if not more) free swag, and make money off of promos.

    • I posted it because she appeared to be making a big splash in New York. I don’t understand how she makes money as you say there are plenty of others doing just what she does and not making that much.

  3. Judith, all I can say is: WOW! Half-a-million readers a month! I saw the video and she makes $100,000 per year, which is a nice sum, although not enough to live in New York City in the style to which she has become accustomed. But she’s happy to make enough to pay her rent and buy shoes… and she gets to make a living being her, going shopping, meeting the famous and fabulous. There is something about Miss Gala that makes me think of our Lady Gaga.
    Fun post, Judith, thanks. -Martie

  4. Gala Darling is lying

Judith, then you would know that Gala Darling’s parent are rich and that she lives off their money. 🙂 She doesn’t make $100,000 a year. It is utter BS and Gala’s lies have been unravaled on various sites like

There’s a reason Gala Darling Fraud, Scam and Trust Fund are the first google searches for her name. Like the poster above said, it is not possible for her to live that chichi lifestyle off the few blog ads and promotions that she does.

    • I don’t think her parents are rich. They are retailers and each have had (maybe still have) their own retail outlets. So I don’t think she lives on their money – but what parent doen’t support their child when he/she branches off alone into the big world.
